11:00am Update from The Impact Network
The Impact Network is composed of a Committee which represents the broad range of student volunteering taking place across the UK. They are responsible for organising an annual conference which brings the movement together to discuss challenges and opportunities and to learn skills. They also partake in research and sector analysis, which allows groups to lobby and present the value of student community action and produce resources for supporting students and staff in building successful student community projects.
Open Workshops – Choose one:
1. Student Led Projects: Learn from Nicola Byron, Project Director of Student Run Self Help (SRSH) Supporting Students with Eating Disorders. Nicola presents a unique perspective on setting up a project as a student and now supporting students to set up their own self help groups.
2. International Volunteering: Bob Walley, Lecturer in Community Leadership, University of Central Lancashire will present information about International Volunteering, where to go for information and the best advice to give to students interested in international projects.
3. Impact Assessment: John Braime, Volunteer Manager, UCL, will facilitate a practical workshop on measuring the impact of student volunteering projects.
4. Skills Share Opportunity: Come with your issue, question or problem and share with your colleagues to workshop a solution.
