The Women’s Law Student Association promotes the advancement of women in the legal profession. Recent events have included a panel discussion on women in the legal workplace, a social event at a local bar, and golf lessons. We also offer community outreach services, such as volunteering as a group with Habitat for Humanity or providing community legal education to the local YWCA. WLSA pairs up with the Legal Association for Women a couple times each year to network with local legal professionals. WLSA hosts a silent auction each spring, which funds two scholarships each year for law students.

In order to achieve active membership, we require that you attend one event and one meeting each semester, and pay $15 in dues that will take care of the entire year.
Please drop off checks (made out to WLSA) or cash to WLSA's mailbox, which is in that big black file cabinet thing over by the hangfiles on the main floor. Please put your name & WLSA's name on the envelope.

Thanks to your support of the 2012 Silent Auction, the Women’s Law Student Association is offering THREE $1,000.00 scholarships to current UW Law School Students, one of which will be to an active member of WLSA. You do not have to be an active member to apply, although one is reserved for an active member. If you are an active member, you may apply for both a member and a non-member scholarship, although you can only receive one. For more information, please download the scholarship application. It is available on the groupspaces site under the "files" tab.
Applications are due by April 12th at 6:00 in Karen Thimke's (2L) hang file. Winners will be announced by the end of the semester.
We are very excited to be able to offer these scholarships, so please apply!
