We, as the Women's Association, are here first and foremost to represent any self-defined female at the University of Birmingham.
We focus on issues such as unequal pay, domestic violence, the White Ribbon Alliance, women internationally and discovering about women in different cultures, breast cancer, and also raising money for local charities. We are also aiming to reach out into the local community by volunteering through local charities.
As an association of the Guild, we cannot state ourselves as 'the feminist society' - any self-defined female is welcome, and she does not have to declare herself a feminist in order to care about the issues raised. Equally, it is also accepted if any women in our association do declare themselves feminists!
We aim for both equality and diversity for the women at our university.
