  • First of all, I would like to say a big THANK YOU to everyone that joined the Poker Society before or during Joining Fortnight. We currently have 89 students with memberships so it is fair to say that you guys are AWESOME!

The end of Joining Fortnight does in no way restrict anyone else to join the club and you can still buy join at any point during the year the same ways:

Just click the link and have your debit/credit card ready:
OR Go to the 2nd floor of the Bloomsbury Building on Gordon Street and ask to join the Poker Society at the CSC Reception.

Unfortunately like we started last weekend, you will have to pay £2 on top of your buy-in if you have not bought your membership. This will be the case in all subsequent tournaments which makes the £4 yearly membership cheaper overall. We really hate doing this but the union checks from time to time that members only are enjoying club activities. If anyone still needs convincing as to why you should join the Poker Society, below are some facts and stats:

    - Our members are AWESOME and very FRIENDLY
    - We are currently averaging 58 players and 20 rebuys per tournament.
    - Average tournament prize pool so far is £370.00
    - Our 5p/10p cash games are so "juicy" that last weekend we were playing for over £200
    - Our 5-a-side team, Poker Society FC, is cruising through the IMS Wednesday League with 2 wins in 2

Joining Fortnight.

  • Hey Everyone,

Joining Fortnight is officially over and I would like to thank those of you who joined the UCLU Poker Society.

For those of you who haven't yet signed up, memberships will continue to be on sale via www.uclu.org/shop for the rest of the academic year as well as at the CSC reception from Monday 1 November. Remember, you have to be a member to play in our weekly tournaments.

I would also like to apologise for the cancellation of last week's tournament which was the result of a room bookings clash. We assure you that we will try our utmost to ensure we have the lower refectory room for future tournaments. For the time being, the Wilkinson JBR room should suffice.

That's all from me for now. Hope to see you all tomorrow!

    Adnan Bhaiji
