A brief reminder that our Edinburgh shows are in full swing and stirring up a typhoon of wonder and joy, with splendid reviews for the Jabberwocky (link below).
Do come along and watch, if you have the means and time at your disposal - the descriptions for both productions are below.

Lovely Drama people, hope you're all having a wonderful summer! I'm sure you've been missing your regular thespy update so read on to find out more about our three shows over summer and if you want to bid to direct next term!
Firstly though, I'd like to take this opportunity to thank last year's committee for all their hard work over the past academic year, which has been hugely successful and great fun. Thanks in particular to our outgoing president Grace!
On that note, welcome to our new committee! Here's to another great year for Drama Soc. In future you'll be receiving emails from the wonderful eccentric that is Jack Tivey but your stuck with me for now; I'm Matt your new President. I'm really excited about the year ahead and hope that the society gives you a great experience - please don't hesitate to get in touch with me with any ideas you have or just if you want to say nice things to me :)
Still around London? Missing the Drama Society? Feel the need to fill a theatre-shaped void in your life?
If the answer to any of those questions is YES.... (and even if NOT), come and support the Drama Society at our amazing Term 3 Shows! We're offering Shakespeare, New Writing, Contemporary Drama and a LEAVERS SHOW (your chance to say goodbye to the leaving drama kids). Here's the calendar of amazing stuff we have to offer:
THE GRONHOLM METHOD (Black Box show) in the CSC Conference Room, 3rd-4th June: https://www.facebook.com/events/1442523309385694/
CHANGE OVER (new play by Sophia Chetin-Leuner) in Mully's, 6th June: https://www.facebook.com/events/893530030704191/
MUCH ADO ABOUT NOTHING (Quad Play) in the Quad, 9th-10th June: https://www.facebook.com/events/820231974750861/
ON THE ROAD (Leaver's Show) in the CSC Conference Room, 11th June: https://www.facebook.com/events/890252601016688/
Any/All of these plays are the perfect way to celebrate the end of exams!! They're all set to be BRILLIANT pieces of drama, as well as great social occasions (you can take alcohol to Much Ado and Change Over is in a bar!).
HEY ALL, hope revision is swell. Anyone who is missing the bright lights of the Bloomsbury/Roaming Garage might want to satiate their theatrical cravings by checking out the two casting oppurtunities we have below: one for the Edinburgh Fringe and one for a Feature Film! Anyone who wants to get on with their revision should....probably get back to it... Like, seriously. Stop reading this. Go.
Hey all, I know that 'tis the season for revision, but if anyone wants some dramatic relief from the tedium of academia, what better way to do so than to put together a BID to direct a Term 3 Drama show? Read below for details...
If you're more interested in acting, we're also auditioning for places in our touring company, UCLU Runaground, who are taking two shows to the Edinburgh Fringe! Or if Edinburgh sounds too far, we also have auditions for the Camden Fringe! Read ahead for more...
Dearest Thespians - there is MUCH INFORMATION below, but its REALLY IMPORTANT - give it a read!
(Also information for any enthusiastic actors who were wondering - Auditions for Edinburgh will be at the beginning of next term and all other Term 3 shows will be auditioned in Term 3 at a date TBC.)
.....to come to the AGM!
If you are a member of the Drama Society this year (and only if you are a paid-up member - sorry! It is only £10... http://uclu.org/clubs-societies/drama-society) make sure you come to our Annual General Meeting, tomorrow (Tuesday 17th March), from 6.30PM in the Clubs and Societies Common Room (floor 2 of the Bloomsbury bulding).
For those of you who don't know what an AGM is, its the time of the year when new committee members are elected (although they don't take over the roles until 1st August). So this is your chance to vote for the new committee to represent you next year and decide the future of the society!****
Make sure you get there for 6.30 onwards (we need to start at 7PM so don't arrive at 7 on the dot!) *****
Come one, come all: https://www.facebook.com/events/377909735726484/
****There will also be pizza
*****Arriving early may also increase your chances of eating pizza
Remeber the social tomorrow at Phineas at 7PM! Also if you want a say in what shows the committee does consider joining the committee at the AGM!
HEY its Josie writing the e-mails again - and this one is a biggie. If you're interested in being on Drama Committee next year (and why wouldn't you be? Committee are the people who get to decide what shows we put on!), all the details you need to know are below...

Hope you are all having a nice reading week!!
Firstly, a big well done to all involved in Drama Society's productions at the Camden People's Theatre over the past two weeks!
Both 'No Exit' and 'CowsDrinkMilk' received glowing reviews from Pi Media and sold out their run - so big congrats!
As ever, thanks to all who came to the social on Tuesday - remember its every week, Phineas, 7PM onwards! As for other Drama-related activities - read below...
Apologies to be so needy with the e-mails, but this is important...
To all budding DIRECTORS and producers - if you want to put on a show with Drama Society at the Bloomsbury Theatre next year (ie. Autumn Term 2015 or Spring Term 2016), NOW is the time to bid. Details below....
There's ALSO a chance to win £40 worth of Theatre vouchers - just by completing the society's member survey...
While you're digesting all of the lovely information in the below e-mail, make sure you're simultaneously writing the SOCIAL THIS TUESDAY, at PHINEAS from 7PM in your diary. It was a lovely occasion last week and sure to be just as warming-of-the-cockles-of-your-heart this week. Even if you don't know anyone in the society, just come along and look out for/start chatting to the friendly social sec Chloe (as pictured below).
Hi all and Happy New Year!
Firstly, congrats to the cast of Dr Faustus in December; the show was the final one in a very successful term, but Term 2 is set to be just as good - read ahead to find about about ways to get involved... If you can't be bothered to read the whole thing, use the contents to skip ahead to the sections relevant to you (there is a LOT of information below)
Also remember to come to the DRAMA SOCIAL at Phineas, this Tuesday 13th, 7PM - either catch up with old drama pals or if you don't know anyone in the society, make new friends!
