URGENT

Tickets for 'The Idiot Colony' at the Jackson's Lane Theatre on 21st November are almost sold out so would all those interested please send an email to drama.society@ucl.ac.uk ASAP. Please put 'Theatre trip' as the subject of your email.

Places are also running out for the trip to the Globe Theatre on the 1st December. Please email Hannah to secure a place, hannah.berry@ucl.ac.uk or you can email the society direct; drama.society@ucl.ac.uk. Please put 'Globe workshop' as the subject. This is a very rare opportunity to get a free workshop with professionals at a highly respected theatre, get your place before they run out!
All members of the 'Cymbeline' cast are encouraged to attend this trip as well as anyone hoping to audition for 'Measure for Measure' next term.

Doors open half an hour before the performances and tickets can be purchased then (cash only). Please arrive early to avoid disappointment.

Another reminder: please come to the Drama Workshop tomorrow at 5pm, 1st floor of the Bloomsbury building. This week we have 'Trestle Theatre Company' focusing on mask work.

And one more thing: would all people wishing to become members of the Drama Society please do so in order to participate. This can be done here or in the CSC. This also applies to current members who must renew their membership if they wish to remain in the society.

Here we are again with an update on all of our goings on for the coming week and beyond!

We hope you got a chance to get involved with some of our events last week: The Complicite workshop, King Ubu & God in the Garage, the play reading of Ionesco's Rhinoceros last saturday, not to mention auditons for Antigone.

This week looks set to be just as busy, if not busier, than last week...

One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest is directed by Tahsin Gemikonakli and Imogen Lewis, two of Drama's most active members, and produced by Aliya Abidi, the producer of Drama's top-notch Term 2 Bloomsbury Production 'Henry IV'.

GARAGE TERM 1 BIDS AND 2009 FRESHERS' PLAYS

Another bidding season is happening now, for shows in the Garage in Term 1 next academic year (September-December Term)! Bids are open for two things:

1. NORMAL TERM 1 GARAGE SHOWS
2. THE 2009 FRESHERS' PLAYS

Please note that even though the Freshers' Plays are in the Garage, the process for bidding to direct them is DIFFERENT from the process for bidding to direct a normal Garage Show!

SPECIAL EMAIL: THE AGM AND THE DRAMA PAR-TAY!

 Dear All,

The UCLU Drama Society's Annual General Meeting is this week! 

WEDNESDAY 11th MARCH 2009, 6PM
JZ YOUNG LECTURE THEATRE, ANATOMY BUILDING, GOWER STREET
 (just down from the gate to the quad on the left hand side of the road).

This meeting involves various reports from the current committee, the ratification of the constitution, and the elections for the 2009-10 Committee. The Agenda and the Constitution are attached to this email.

IT IS VERY IMPORTANT THAT ALL SOCIETY MEMBERS DO THEIR BEST TO ATTEND - WE NEED AT LEAST 70 PEOPLE THERE TO MAKE IT QUORATE! 

A few things to clarify:

1. In order to stand for a position on the committee, you must have nominated yourself by the end of MONDAY 9TH MARCH! For more info on how to nominate yourself and to download a nominations form, go to www.ucludrama.wordpress.com/agm/

2. In order to stand for a position on the committee you MUST be a paying society member by the time of the AGM!

3. In order to vote in the committee elections, then you MUST be a paying society member by the time of the AGM!

A register will be taken on the day, so please make sure you purchase your membership if you have not already done so from the CSC Reception between 10am-5pm!

FINALLY - we will be laying on a small party after the AGM to celebrate the years achievements and to congratulate the new committee. We will let you know of the location at the AGM! Drama and Stage Crew members are welcome to attend! Food and some drink will be provided at the event, but please bring your own as well!
