Urgent — Edinburgh Fringe casting opportunity!

E-mail sent by Trini Kaushal, Saturday, 16th June 2012 @ 3:20am

Dear Drama Society Members,

Please pay great heed to this important message about this summer's UCLU Runaground Production of Eurydice,

Due to a couple of last minute complications there is now an opportunity for one or two people to join the cast of 'Eurydice' and perform at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this summer! The Edinburgh Fringe is THE best activity that Drama Society can offer, giving you the chance to perform at the biggest Fringe festival in the world, and it's a lot of fun too! So if you missed out on the chance to get involved in one of the productions first time round please do get in touch.

Rehearsals run from the last week of June until we go up to Edinburgh in the last week of July, and we will be there for the duration of the festival. There are also opportunities for a Publicity Manager and for a Technical Manager, both of which do not require any previous experience and come with a pass entitling you to free tickets to shows and discount food and drink, so if you were thinking of coming to Edinburgh anyway that might be an incentive to come with us! Anyone interested in being involved in any capacity should email Becky at speller.rebecca@ymail.com as soon as possible.

E-mail sent by Trini Kaushal, Wednesday, 14th March 2012 @ 2:47pm

Dear Drama Society Members,

Here is a special mid-week bulletin about Edinburgh auditions, which are taking place this week!

As announced at the AGM, Drama Society is taking 2 productions to the Edinburgh Fringe Festival this August. The productions are 'Eurydice' by Sarah Ruhl, and an adaptation of '1984' by George Orwell.

The Edinburgh Fringe Festival is the best activity that Drama Society can offer. You have the chance to perform for a month at the biggest Fringe Festival in the world, go and see over 2000 other shows, ranging from top class comedians to dance, theatre and muscials.
The festival is a big time commitment, but so much fun, so please all of you come and audition!

Auditions are taking place at the end of this week, please see below for details. Please audition for both productions, and then the production teams will fight over you and assign you to a play.

There are also a couple of other notices for you supplimentary to yesterday's email.

Dear Drama Society Members,

AGM TOMORROW!

E-mail sent by Trini Kaushal, Thursday, 8th March 2012 @ 2:26pm

Dear Drama Society Members,

Here is the last in the barrage of emails about the AGM, we promise.

The full agenda of the meeting, and the society constitution, are attached to this email. This details exactly how the meeting will run.

Just a few supplimentary points of information:

  • For the elections, each candidate running will make a 2 minute speech/presentation, after which there will be 4 minutes of questions from the society. The candidates will then be asked to leave the room. Each candidate can then be seconded by 2 other society members. Then we will proceed to an anonymous vote, the President will record the results, the candidates will be invited back into the room, and the result will be announced!
  • Candidates are allowed to run for more than one committee position if they have not been successful in another position. For example, if you run for President but are unsuccessful, then you are able to run for other positions after that.
  • Only people who are members of the society are eligible to vote. The Secretary will take a register at the beginning of the meeting.
  • There will be lots of refreshments provided!!

Don't worry if this all sounds very complicated, we will explain it all again at the meeting. It's going to be fun.

See you all tomorrow (Friday 9th) at 5pm in the South Wing Garwood LT!!

Love,

UCLU Drama Committee
