It's a very exciting time for Drama Society! Below is an update on our Annual General Meeting and how you can run and vote for committe positions.
We have lots and lots of exciting oppurtnities and events coming up for all you drama lovers. Take a peek below to see what Drama Soc has in store...
Alongside it's name change (previously the London Student Drama Festival), the Act II festival has lots of snazzy new changes to its proccess and structure. PLEASE DISREGARD THE INFORMATION ABOUT ACT II IN MY PREVIOUS E-MAIL.
Writers can apply here:
Each writer that applies will be invited to an interview with the Drama Soc Committee. You do not need to have experience or have a play written! We are looking for creative enthusiasm and writers will be selected based on ideas!
If you are chosen to participate in the festival, you will attend a workshop and intro meeting in December, followed by a series of writers workhsops, held by professional playrights, in January to help develop your ideas into a play. Plays will be cast at the end of January and performed sometime between late February and March. Finished plays should be around 30 minutes long. While rehearsals are taking place professional directors will come into a rehearsal to help with the development of your show.
All shows will be put on as part of the ACT II Festival. Selected shows will have the opportunity to perform again in collaboration with a producing theatre in London as part of the ‘pick of the festival’.
We look forward to hearing from you!
I have SO much to tell you about this week so I'll keep this intro short and sweet and just say that I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT EVERYTHING HAPPENING PLS COME TO IT ALL
It seems only fitting that the return of the Drama society e-mail is accompanied with possibly the most Dramatic week of this term so far:
We've got SHOWS, we've got BIDS, we've got SOCIALS, we've got WORKSHOPS and we've got a sleep-deprived Secretary who is very unlikely to proof-read this e-mail. What more could you want?
I'm fully aware that I promised an email early this week and that it is now Friday afternoon but third year has already turned me into a zombie.
NONETHELESS, we have lots of exciting stuff coming up this week so read on to satisfy your Drama Soc craving.
Hello all and welcome back to another wonderful exciting year at UCL Drama Society and a special welcome to everyone who signed up to the mailing list at the Freshers' Fair today! Though I’m sure many of you only signed up so you could snag some Haribos - you now have the pleasure of reading my ramblings every week. For those of you who don't know; I'm Trini, your administrator for 2018/2019 (aka the new and slightly less witty Hannah)! Although I am but a tiny five foot tall human, I hold all the knowledge and secrets of this wonderous society. My regular emails will be jam-packed with information about auditions, events, workshops, and socials - all of which can also be found on our Facebook group:
