Transition Cambridge

Transition Cambridge is part of the Transition Town network of like-minded communities across the UK and abroad that seek a community-based response to the challenges of peak oil and climate change.
We want to create a buzz throughout the city, inspiring us all to apply our energies and talents to be less dependent on fossil fuels. By encouraging the use of local resources and skills we aim to build a prosperous and sustainable future together

Posted by Nicola Terry, Sunday 25th January 2009 @ 3:05pm

In this enlivening and interactive talk, local coach and writer Corrina Gordon-Barnes explores why passion and aliveness must form a vital part of our Transition movement. She introduces the concept of Contribution Footprints - our unique way of making a difference in the world - and offers us ways of finding and increasing our own such footprints. The Power of Community: How Cuba Survived Peak Oil

Posted by Nicola Terry, Sunday 2nd November 2008 @ 3:15pm

After the doom laden showing of A Crude Awakening in November, this is a delightful, fascinating and inspirational film showing how Cubans adapted to limited energy resources in the face of the US embargo. They did it because they had to. We have to as well, thought not quite so quickly.

As well as the film, there will be a short talk introducing Transition Cambridge and their activities.
