Started in 2009, The Looking Glass is the official creative writing anthology for the University of York.
We accept short fiction, poetry and drama of all kinds - everything gets considered by our editorial team, and we're dedicated to providing detailed feedback regardless of whether or not it gets in the final edition.
The product each year is a book around 100 pages in length, available in the final weeks of the summer term and the beginning of the following Autumn term.
Our membership consists solely of students, from our editorial department to our design team, and regardless of how you want to get involved there'll be some way you can help out.
Those of you who've observed The Looking Glass before will know that we tend to go a little quiet during the summer term, while we put the anthology together and send it off to the printers in time for our grand end-of-term unveiling. Having said that, we've still got a couple of things left to take care of!
Here's the reading pack for Easter. It's a bit of a beast, but please read it through, make a few notes and then bring it to the first meeting back in Week 1 of Summer Term. We'll probably make sure we've got some drinks and biscuits there to get us through the mountain of pieces to chat through!!
Anyway, here's to a great Easter break with much chocolate and rest :)
