TRAINING TIMES Spring '11:
White belts (newbies), Red belts + taster sessions: 1:00-2:00pm
Higher Grades: 3:00-4:00pm
All Belts: 2:00-3:00pm
Higher Belts & advanced newbies: 3:00-4:00pm
Training more than once a week will make a massive impact on the rate at which you progress and will prepare you for gradings, so it's recommended that you train at least twice a week. The more grades you do, the better and more challenging the lessons get so it's definitely worth it!
The club provides the equipment you need to train (gloves, pads etc), just turn up in loose clothing and bring along a bottle of water.
If you want to spar its worth puchasing your own gum sheild and foot, groin shin and head guards along with 16oz leather gloves.
Before attending a grading, you need to make sure you have attended enough lessons, over a set period of time. These are as follows depending on which belt you are hoping to grade for:
RED - 10 stamps over 2 months
YELLOW - 15 stamps over 3 months
ORANGE - 20 stamps over 3 months
GREEN - 30 stamps over 4 months
BLUE - 30 stamps over 4 months
PURPLE - 40 stamps over 4 months
BROWN - 50 stamps over 6 months
BROWN/BLACK - 50 stamps over 6 months
BLACK - When your instructor gives you permission
We will hold gradings at the end of every term, but they are also held on the last Saturday of every month at Kicks on Lewes Road. Therefore if you meet the above criteria for grading before the end of term, you are welcome to grade at Kicks earlier.
Once you reach orange belt, you typically start sparring work (if you want to that is, its entirely up to you) and can begin to look at entering various tournaments (such as the National Uni tournament held by Kent Uni late Feb/ early March next year), and fighting at Sussex Uni kickboxing events.
The gradings cost £12 and you do get a snazzy belt and certificate out of it, so it's worth it!
**MEMBERS WHO HAVE GRADUATED…
We still want you! That's right, even if you've graduated but are still living/working/generally bumming around Brighton and want to continue kickboxing with us, you can! So come on down!
Students from BRIGHTON UNIVERSITY are also welcome to come and train with us!!!!!!
We're now taking orders for club clothing. The prices are as follows:
Mens tshirt: £15
Womens skinny fit tshirt: £15
Hoody: £28 (£31.50 if you want your name embroidered on the front, under the club logo)
Handwraps: £4 (black, red, or blue)

If you want to order anything, let us know when you see either of us. We will require the money upfront. Once you obtain a red belt, you will be expected to train in proper kit. This includes kickboxing trousers and preferably handwraps.
We also sell sparring equipment, so if anybody needs some, message one of us and we will send you the price list.
