U8: Exciting opportunity to engage in a development workshop run by the New Internationalist!

Date:

Thursday, 13th November 2008 @ 6pm

Hi everyone,

The development society at the university, known as the U8, is hosting 4 simultaneous workshops on the issues of development. This is a very rare event as the workshops are being run by specialists from the New Internationalist magazine.

These workshops will be of use to anyone that has an interest in the issues of development such as poverty alleviation, human rights, social justice and global health. It will be valuable to those considering a career in development, academia or even those who want to go into business as development now constitutes a major part of companies’ corporate social responsibility policy.

This workshop takes place on Thursday 13th November at 6pm and it will be hosted in the Murray Building. Rooms will be finalised when students have confirmed their attendance.

To book your place email u8@soton.ac.uk- there are limited spaces so it will be on a strictly first come first served basis!

We hope that this sounds appealing to you and that you will book your place as soon as possible to avoid disappointment. The New Internationalist are experts in all manners of international affairs so we cannot reiterate enough what a privilege it is that we at U8 are able to host such an event.
