Shudokan Aikido Oxford is based on the Yoshinkan style of Aikido – a style of Aikido taught to the police and military worldwide. It is an effective method of self-defence suitable for all to learn. Aikido is a Martial Arts system that emphasises circular movements to redirect an attack. The techniques include locks, holds and throws. Effective technique rather than strength make it ideally suited for all - young or old, male or female. We are based at the Oxford Brookes Centre for Sport and train on Sunday 6.00–8.00pm. At the Oxford Shudokan Aikido club we believe in teaching our art in a friendly environment and to allow students to develop at their own pace.
