Dear Shark Community,
G'day from sunny Euchuca where the 3 Turner brothers and Johnny have just washed up after day 3 of the Murray Marathon. 268klm down and just 136klm to go!!
After a bit of a slow start on day one with a few dips in the Murray Water (Davin reckons he was hunting for Murray Cod with his bare hands) we gathered ourselves together for a roaring 2nd stage 96klm sizzler with a Turner brother even managing to climb onto the podium for a stage win.
Day 3 (today) sorted the wheat from the chaff however and it was the Irishman who pushed past the Turners just 15min off the leaders pace.
But rest assured it's not all hard work. The paddling has been serene with a strong flow, warm weather and a cooling slight southerly.
And of course we remain alert to the search for the elusive Bunyip. Johnny claimed to see one right under a snag or so he said but we think this could be an excuse for an embarrassing tip-in.
Other highlights:
@ Joel struggling to stay awake for the first 60klm on day one ( mate, you gotta get checked for nacolepsy)
@The Bogans drowning out the serenity with duff duff
@ The fantastic support from our landcrew if Mum Turner and John.
@ Wake up music (AC/DC or similar) at 5.30am
@ New sensations in the buttock regions that have never been felt before.
A huge thanks to those who supported our efforts with your generous donations.
