$2000 in Travel Grant Funding! Study Abroad in the Middle East!

Posted by Stephen, Friday, January 18th, 2013 @ 11:34am

  • Hello!

Professor Marshak and Adam Pagel have a passion for providing study abroad programs in non-traditional regions of the world, like the Middle East.  To help make study abroad possible for more students, they have raised $2,000 in travel grant funding for each accepted and confirmed CSE student on this program!  That means that participating students will have a final cost of $3,000 for what is a $5,000 program.  This is really a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity.   Space is limited.

We are still accepting applications for this special opportunity to study in Israel and Jordan.  The program focuses on R&D, technology transfer, start up companies, and the history/culture/politics of the region.  Students earn three credits, and participants can use the credits in their tech elective total with departmental permission.  The course begins during Spring Semester, with travel during May Session 2013.

You can see a description of the class, and a video from the 2012 group here:

If you are considering study abroad, please apply now!  We are still accepting applications, but we need to finalize the group by February 4.
