Robogals Melbourne

Robogals is a non-profit student-run organisation that aims to increase female participation in engineering, science and technology by directly engaging girls in these topics from a young age.

Our activities include school visits to teach Lego robotics at girls primary schools, and mentoring teams into the First Lego League robotics competition.

Judges needed for FIRST LEGO LEAGUE 2010 Body Forward Challenge

Judges needed for

All judging work is performed in pairs. You will be provided with excellent judge training material and also pre-recorded judging sessions for review from TechXellent Training Solutions.

To get an idea of what this year’s First Lego League involves, volunteers can attend one of the first three events; you don’t have to be a judge to attend the first three events, just curious. Judges must attend the last two events.

Date: Tuesday 7th September

Time: 4 - 6pm

Venue: Melbourne Grammar Grimwade house, 67 Balaclava Rd, Caulfield North.

Hi Executive members,

We are in need of teaching volunteers for sessions coming during the the last week of this month.So please hurry and express your interest with us!!!All interested people will receive training. Volunteers will be trained in building and programming of robots.
The dates for the  training sessions will be posted soon.So watch out for this space. 

This is a great opportunity for all those interested in teaching and also a chance to meet new people!!!No previous experience required.

So all those interested please contact me at ramya@robogals.org.au or Erik at erik@robogals.org.au atleast by the 13th of August.

P.S All previous volunteers working with us are also strongly encouraged to give their availability times as we need quite a number of teaching volunteers.So don't hesitate to send that mail!

Teaching at Lauriston

We have yet another exciting programming session coming up this week at Lauriston!!!The sessions details are as follows

10th august(tuesday)
1:45 p.m to 3:15 p.m

All volunteers interested in this session please contact me at ramya@robogals.org.au.

We are also looking for untrained volunteers who are interested in teaching the final batch at Lauriston for this year which will be at the end of this month.Please express your interest at the earliest possible so that we can arrange a training session for the same.

Science Fair

Hi Everyone,

Next semester we are holding a Science Fair!!!!!
It will be at the uni and we are holding it in conjunction with National Science Week!
We are looking for volunteers to help run some of the experiements we have lined up. You will be trained by Mick Moylan from the Chemistry department and then will demonstratae the experiment to high school and upper primary school students on the day of the fair. Details of the fair are below.

Aim: To engage students in science, engineering and technology by exposing them to live and some interactive demonstrations

 

Target Audience: High School and Primary School students

 

Schools: Lauriston, Caroline Chisholm Catholic College, Melbourne Girls Grammar,

Time: 10pm-2pm

 

Where: The University of Melbourne (most likely Grand Buffet Hall, Union House)

Robogals Global is Recruiting

Robogals is looking for a National Sponsorship Manager and a Creative Design Manager!

As the National Sponsorship Manager you will be in charge of maintaining existing sponsorship arrangements and pursuing new sponsorship arrangements on an Australia-wide level.

As the Creative Design Manager you will be responsible for the look and feel of Robogals’ posters, stationery, newsletter, website and a new publication, the Robogals Handbook.

As always positions are open to students from all backgrounds, disciplines and gender.
