Oxbridge Tutors was created in June 2007 by an Oxford University undergraduate with the aim of decreasing the barriers to information flow between those who have reached the top of the education ladder and those climbing it. Having experienced traditional personal tutoring for his A-levels, he realised that many school pupils struggle to connect with their tutors, and as a result get less from the experience. If they could find a current Oxbridge undergraduate to tutor them, not only would they gain the relevant academic knowledge, but they would also benefit from the experiences of their tutor. This would include recent A-level exam success as well as satisfying the most difficult and selective entrance procedure in the country. But how could these school pupils go about finding a tutor like this? And how could Oxbridge students advertise themselves to a national audience? Step in Oxbridge-Tutors.com. Tutors can post a profile online, as can students, and use Oxbridge-Tutors to find each other, and it’s all absolutely free. The site’s pretty clever at saving you time - it can recommend tutors based on a unique points scoring system that takes into account previous reviews, the number of subjects tutored that match your demands, the distance from you and more.
