Profile

The Oxford Scottish Society was set up in 2007 to create a network of Scottish Students within the University of Oxford. The Society hopes that, by working together, its members will be able to overcome any problems that arise from being far away from home. The college system often means that Scottish people never meet one another, and by bringing people together we hope that this is the first step in overcoming the not insignificant problems that arise. The Society also hopes to address the disproportionately lower number of students from Scotland compared to the rest of the UK.

On top of the more serious aims of the Society, we also aim to have a lot of fun by bringing some high quality Scottish culture to the University. We hope to offer a variety of events each term to suit every taste and hope you will be able to come along and enjoy yourselves!
