Dear all,
Just two quick things to mention:
1. Deadline for mentoring - TODAY!
2. Living the London Life
1. Mentoring scheme with Oxford10: The deadline to sign up for the mentoring scheme is today. Email Stuart Ramsey at Linacre College
Heres the blurb if you missed it last time:
Dear students,
A new alumni/student mentoring scheme is launching again this term, and we invite you to get involved! The idea is simple, to put final-year students in touch with young Oxford alumni for a term and give you the chance to discuss what working life is like. The jump between study and work can be big, and by talking to your peers you can better prepare for the transition.
This scheme is unique. It is run by volunteers and was started by a 2009 graduate of Oxford. It is a joint effort between an alumni group (Oxford10) and a student group (OxSAS), and it complements what the Alumni and Careers Offices already provide. What’s more, it is growing –more than 100 Oxford students registered their interest last term.
Are you in your final year at Oxford? Interested in being mentored? Email stuart.ramsay@lincoln.ox.ac.uk by the end of 5th week (19th February). Include your name, college, subject and why you’re interested. There are limited places, so get in quick!
Sincerely,
Stuart (OxSAS) & Sam (Oxford10)
2. Living the London Life: Monday 6th week.
Where: University Club, Mansfield Road
When: 19:30 - 21:30 (prompt start)
Are you anticipating a move to London for an internship or after
graduation? For all those who are planning on working, studying, or
just living there, OxSAS is holding an interactive discussion with
recent Oxford graduates who are willing to share their wisdom on life in London.
Learn about the search for flats, avoiding nightmare flatmates,
enjoying the social life, balancing life and work, and saving money.
Chat with speakers who have done it all already. There will be plenty
of time for questions and concerns.
Thats all for now, have a lovely weekend!
Sonia
