The Oxford Palestine Society promotes Palestine and Palestinian rights and supports Palestinian self-determination. The Society is committed to the right of return of Palestinians to their homes; the end of the occupation; Jerusalem as the capital of Palestine and peace in the Middle East.
Above all it is a political society which aims to deepen students’ understanding and appreciation of the many aspects of the Middle East conflict. The primary way in which it does this is through the invitation of respected, authoritative speakers and the promotion of reasoned, academic debate in the university. It is also an activist society that frequently takes part in demonstrations as well as organising its own awareness-raising activities.
