We are the University's largest non-auditioning choir, performing a classical choral work every term, in venues such as the Sheldonian Theatre, and often with some of Oxford's finest soloists and orchestral musicians.
We rehearse Wednesday evenings during term and offer a great opportunity for anyone to get involved in singing large-scale choral works.
This is the weekly reminder for our next rehearsal, again taking place on Weds from 7 to 9pm in Corpus Christi Auditorium. Please remember to share our concert with your colleges, departments, friends and family!
Additionally, a note from our Librarian Charlotte:
A reminder for all those who have signed out either/both scores of ‘Rutter’s Gloria’ and ‘Chilcott’s On Christmas Night’ for this term’s concert on Thursday 5th December: It is very important that all borrowed scores are returned to me immediately after the concert on Thursday 5th December. If they are returned late to the hire company then the Chorus will have to pay a fine, so please help us to avoid this by returning your scores on time!
If you are no longer attending rehearsals and don’t plan on singing in the concert this term, please return your scores to me as soon as possible! (Especially if you have a Rutter Gloria as we have now run out of these and other people in the Chorus would like to borrow one.) Scores can be returned either at one of our rehearsals (for the next two Wednesdays we will still be in Corpus Christi College Auditorium, 7-9pm) , or to me directly at St Peter’s College (Please be sure to include my name, otherwise the porter’s will be confused!);
Charlotte Marris St Peter’s College, New Inn Hall Street, Oxford, OX1 2DL
If you have any difficulties in returning your scores, please let me know and I will come up with an alternative solution! Thank you for you cooperation with this.
