We are the University's largest non-auditioning choir, performing a classical choral work every term, in venues such as the Sheldonian Theatre, and often with some of Oxford's finest soloists and orchestral musicians.
We rehearse Wednesday evenings during term and offer a great opportunity for anyone to get involved in singing large-scale choral works.
Now that the academic year has come to an end, we would like to thank you all for your contributions to the performance last Wednesday. It went really well and it sold the most tickets of all the concerts this year. A success all-round!
Additionally, we would also like to announce the results of the vote a few weeks back. Tristan – currently organ scholar of Trinity college and music student - received a majority of the votes, and therefore the committee has asked him to be our conductor for next year. He accepted and is very excited to become a part of the Chorus. This therefore marks the end of Lewis’ tenure with the Chorus. We would like to thank him wholeheartedly for his endless dedication to the rehearsals and concerts this year and wish him the best of luck in his future musical endeavours.
We also want to extend our gratitude to all of you! Thank you for all your contributions this year. It has been great to welcome so many new faces, joining with existing members to perform beautiful pieces of music. Hopefully we can all welcome you back to the Chorus in October for another year of singing!
