The Oxford Polar Society was founded in the summer of 2004. Its aims are as follows: to bring together people who are interested in the polar regions, to educate people on the importance of the Arctic and Antarctic, and what activities go on in these places, to provide information and resources for people planning expeditions to the North or South.
