1. NEW MEMBERS' SIGNUP EVENT. MONDAY 21ST JAN, 11-2pm @ THE LAW FACULTY COMMON ROOM.Do you have friends that would like to join the Law Society? If so please tell them about our new members' sign up event tomorrow, 11-2 at the Law Faculty. The Society is open to all students at Oxford University. See details below: The New members' Signup event is a perfect opportunity to join Law Soc before Presidential Drinks in the Town Hall on Tuesday 22nd January and before the ballot (taking place on on Wednesday 23rd January) for this term's amazing Ball at the London Aquarium! Come along to the Law Faculty Common Room on Monday of 2nd week with cash or your cheque book to join. You will immediately be added to our membership list and be given a membership card and the current termcard! It's only £30 to join for your whole course or £15 for 3 terms: Money you are
guaranteed to make back at our famous social events. We also have a great

2. Presidential Drinks, 8.30pm Tuesday 22nd January @ The Town HallPresidential Drinks is always one of the biggest nights on the Law Society calender!
Come and enjoy a fantastic night that combines a classy venue and smart dress code with tasty drinks served from big buckets, all courtesy of Herbert Smith! New members can sign up at this event, but we recommend you join up beforehand at Monday's sign up event (see above).
Please could all guests arrive early to avoid disappointment. Please bring your membership cards. Tuesday, 22nd January @ 8.30pm

3. Joseph Raz Speaker Event - 6.30pm, Wednesday 23rd JanuaryJoseph Raz is an influential legal, moral and political philosopher and is one of the most prominent living advocates of legal positivism. A fellow of Balliol College, he is now a Research Professor at Oxford, and was an active Professor of Philosophy of Law until 2006. Simultaneously, Raz is also a Professor of Law at Columbia University Law School. His renowned work in jurisprudence centres him at the epitomy of the Jurisprudence course at Oxford. Professor Raz is also incredibly well known to students, most notably for his eight principles of the rule of law. We are very excited to welcome Joseph Raz to speak to our members and look forward to meeting him in person. Wednesday, 23rd January

4. A Taste of Sicily: An evening of wine tasting. 8pm, Monday 28th January @ LMHSponsored by Baker & McKenzie, A Taste of Sicily will be a delightful evening and a great chance to sample some delicious Sicilian wines! Due to a limited number of places, there will be a sign up for this event. If you would like to attend, please email agata.duda@pmb.ox.ac.uk. Places on the sign up list will be given on a first come first served basis so please email Agata as soon as you have checked you can make it. You will receive a confirmation email if you get a place. If you have a place but cannot make it, please email Agata so that someone else can come. Monday 28th January (3rd week)

5. Ball ballot, Wednesday 23rd January, 12-5pmRemember that the ball ballot is happening this week!
