Calling all budding writers…!
Oxford Law Society’s termly magazine, Verdict, is launching its termly essay writing competition to find the best in student writing to publish in this term’s issue!
Not only will the winning essays be published in the magazine, which will be delivered to members during 8th week, the winner will also receive a CASH PRIZE of £150, with £50 for the runner up.
Entries must be between 1200 and 3000 words in length. They can be on any topic of general interest, however, it is favoured that entries look at subjects through a legal perspective or take a social interest or political subject and show some legal relevance. The best entries will be those that are original, thought-provoking and likely to spark discussion!
The competition is open to all members of the University so if you know someone who is not a Law Society member but would be interested in entering this competition please forward them this email.
The deadline for submissions is Monday 28th January (Monday 3rd Week) so get thinking and writing! All entries should be sent as an attachment to srijanee.bhattacharyya@sjc.ox.ac.uk. If you have any questions, please contact hayley.lund@hertford.ox.ac.uk.
GOOD LUCK!!!
Hayley Lund
