Dear members,
Nominations for the Oxford Law Society committee will open Wednesday of 6th week (28th May). Any member of the society can stand for Committee, all we ask
is that you are enthusiastic, dedicated and willing to work hard.
Law Soc Committee is a fantastic opportunity to make friends, organize events and
learn more about the legal profession. Whether your interest lies in helping at
our legendary balls and socials, planning prestigious mooting competitions or
editing Verdict magazine, Law Soc has something for you - and you're guaranteed
to enjoy yourself doing it! No other society combines intense responsibility
with such excellent access to graduate recruiters and partners at the world's
best law firms. Committee members are expected to work hard and attend ALL
events, but the benefits are worth it. If you think that you're up to the challenge, then nominate yourself for election. Remember- YOU DON’T HAVE TO BE A LAWYER!!
Nominations open on Wednesday, May 28th (6th week), and close at 4.30 PM on
Wednesday, 4th June (7th Week). Elections will take place after the Termly
General Meeting of the Society, and voting will begin at 2.30 PM on Wednesday, 11th June (8th Week) at the Law Faculty. Candidates will have two minutes to
hust (say why you think you should be on Committee!) at the TGM, and will be notified of the results via e-mail once voting has
closed.
To nominate, simply send a 50-word manifesto via e-mail to Marta Wojnowska, marta.wojnowska@some and pidge a manifesto and passport-sized photo with your name and college written on the back to, Marta Wojnowska, at Somerville College.
