1. MEMBERSHIP SIGNUP: BEFORE CLUBNIGHTWith many more great events coming up this term - including Champagne and Chocolates, the Law Society ball, the Garden Party and the Boat Party - never has there been a greater time to join the Oxford Law Society. We present another opportunity to sign up without the queues. If you're already a member do tell your friends to come along, espcially if they want to come to the clubnight later that evening. Between 4.00 and 5.00pm at St Johns College anyone can come and join lawsoc! All you need is £15 for one year’s membership or £30 for the length of your degree course. Cash and Cheque only. 2. LES MISERABLESWant to become a solicitor? Want to learn more about Magic Circle firm Clifford Chance? Love the theatre? Then this trip is for you! This is the perfect opportunity to meet Graduate Recruiters at Clifford Chance, learn more about such a highly regarded law firm and take a tour around the firm's offices at Canary Wharf. Members will later be taken to The Queen's Theatre to watch the classic musical 'Les Miserables'. This event is ticketed by means of a ballot. 4. ANTHONY JULIUSAnthony Julius is a lawyer, author and father of five. He received a first-class degree from Cambridge in English Literature and has a PhD from UCL. He is a full-time consultant at the London law firm, Mischon de Reya, and was head of its litigation department for many years. He will be talking about the different legal and philosophical perspectives on blasphemy and pornography in a broad historical context.
