We are trying to create a forum for Oxford Internationalists with the following underlying principles:
-Be open to debate and criticism and prevent a fixed dogma.
-We reject the concept of nationality as an accident of birth and stand to propose the restructuring of international institutions and a formation of a world government which serves the interests of the majority of the world’s people.
-We believe we are facing global problems of poverty, climate change and infectious diseases.
-We believe that it is in the interrests of the majority of the world’s population to solve these problems yet the people who these problems most severely affect do not have adequate representation on the global level.
-We believe that the global structures and institutions that are currently in place do not serve the interests of the majority of people in the world but rather serve the interests of a few rich nations who actually make up a minority of global citizens.
The aims of the society will be to:
-Advocate the advantages of internationalism to Oxford students.
-Organize talks and debates with guest speakers.
-Hold think-tank sessions on the future of internationalism.
-Prepare a library of resources, research papers and books to increase knowledge among students of the internationalist movement.
