E-mail sent by Amrita Dasgupta, Monday, 4th May 2015 @ 7:57pm

Howdy HUMsters,

I hope everyone's first week back has been good! Not too many notices this week; the committee is hard at work to ensure OxHoli runs smoothly later this term. If any of you have any comments or queries about how the committee is running the society please email me at amrita.dasgupta@st-annes.ox.ac.uk. We would love to take everyone's comments into consideration.

P.S. As usual here's your riddle for the week, enjoy! Scroll to the end for the answer!

Each morning I appear
To lie at your feet,
All day I follow
No matter how fast you run,
Yet I nearly perish
In the midday sun.

What am I?

**HUM: Trinity Week 1**

E-mail sent by Amrita Dasgupta, Monday, 27th April 2015 @ 11:46am

Dearest HUMsters,

The tulips are blooming, the sun is shining and everyone seems to feel they haven't done enough revision; clearly Trinity term has arrived. I hope that all of you have had a restful vac! Our committee is hard at work to ensure that OxHoli is going to be a resounding success this term. Do come along to our weekly aarti and Hindi lessons to mingle with fellow HUMsters.

HUMpyaar xxxx

P.S. As per usual, I have a riddle for all of you riddle-afficionados; don't forget to read through all the messages to get to the answer!

Listen closely, I'm hard to understand
I am as elusive as is a handful of sand.
Even if you perceive me, you know me not
before you can tell me, what I have forgot.

What am I?

**HUM: Hilary Week 8**

E-mail sent by Amrita Dasgupta, Monday, 9th March 2015 @ 6:12pm

Namaste HUMcollective (like CumberCollective? Come on I can't be the only fan of Benedict Cumberbatch...),

Time flies like an arrow; fruit flies like a banana.

Forgive the pun above but, I can't believe its 8th week already! In my opinion, time isn't just flying, its leaping and bounding and should really be given a speeding ticket to slow things down a bit. Anyways, I hope all of you have had a great Hilary term and have enjoyed the events HUM has organised this term. Do come along to aarti this week to celebrate the end of term with your fellow HUMsters. Lastly, a very happy (belated) Holi to all!

HUMpyaaar xxx

P.S. Thought this riddle would be apropos for the Easter break for many of us! Don't forget to read the rest of the notices before getting to the answer!

Turn us on our backs
And open up our stomachs
You will be the wisest
Though at start a lummox.

**HUM: Hilary Week 7**

E-mail sent by Amrita Dasgupta, Monday, 2nd March 2015 @ 7:21pm

Dearest HUMcrew,

7th week is upon us, the end of the tunnel nears! Less than two weeks left till the end of term! Come celebrate the (almost) end of term with your fellow HUMsters at the Teach First Social tomorrow at Keble College (details below!). The weekly HUM events are being held as per usual: the aarti is on Wednesday while the Hindi lessons are on Friday. We look forward to seeing you all at these events!

HUMpyaar xxx

P.S. It occurs once every minute. Twice in every moment. But never once in one hundred thousand years.

P.P.S Extra props to anyone who realised I took last week's riddle from The Hobbit!
