E-mail sent by Sagar Shah, Wednesday, 17th October 2012 @ 3:11pm

Dear Humsters,

This is just a reminder e-mail for aarti today and an interesting upcoming event in Cambridge!

As usual, Aarti will take place at 6:30 at the OCHS (please be prompt) and if you do not know where this is, please come outside Tesco at 6:25pm and find the random brown-skinned person floating around. After this, we will be going for a meal (mostly Pizza Express) so come join us for a standard HUM evening!

Also, on another note, Cambridge have invited us to their Garba event, and since we don't have one, it would be nice to get a group down there and show them how we break it down garba stlye here in Oxford. If you are interested, let me know and I will try organise cheap transport. The event link is: http://www.facebook.com/events/361065760648567/

**HUM** Message for the talented

E-mail sent by Sagar Shah, Sunday, 7th October 2012 @ 3:57pm

Dear Hummers,
I don't usually send this many e-mails, not that keen, but a Diwali Ball dance group is getting quite desperate for new dancers.

If you have any ability to dance or just can shake it up on the dancefloor, contact Varun Sivaram on 07502 264423!
They need preferably male dancers but everyone else is welcome.

Their first practise is today at 630pm, and even if you can't make it, I'm sure you can learn the moves quickly.
You will get a discounted Diwali Ball ticket and it will be fun, so its definitely worth it!
Call him maybe?

**HUM** Fresher's Week

E-mail sent by Sagar Shah, Saturday, 6th October 2012 @ 1:27am

Dear Humsters,

A big welcome to all our new additions to the mailing list, I hope Oxford has welcomed you well!
As you recover from an action-packed freshers week, HUM has a lot to offer next week. We have our regular aarti's, that cater for the religious and for those who want to have a nice, quiet session in the middle of a hectic week. Also, we have our meet & greet where there will be food and drink for everyone, so that all our members can reunite and meet the new crop.

As usual, this term is building up to the Diwali Ball so keep 3rd November free for an unforgettable evening!

Have an amazing first week and can't wait to see you all!

**HUM** Michaelmas 2012

E-mail sent by Sagar Shah, Monday, 1st October 2012 @ 10:53am

Freshers, re-freshers and the other older lot,

After 3 months of relaxed holiday time, Michaelmas has finally arrived, and with it a number of plans from this years' HUM committee.

This time of the year is always exciting, recruiting new freshers and meeting new people, so I urge everyone to put a friendly face on and approach those who may be interested in joining HumSoc and tell them how great is (which it obviously is). We have a stall at Fresher's Fair so spread the word and let's add to the member database.

Wish you all a great fresher's week,
We should be giving details of the Meet&Greet soon and other exciting events as well!

**HUM** is back

E-mail sent by Sagar Shah, Wednesday, 12th September 2012 @ 10:58pm

Hellllooooo Hummers,

Apologies if my email is a bit rusty, that was too long a break!

I hope you all had a lovely vacation, whether it was trotting the globe, enjoying the classic films with grandparents or going to weddings and being sharked on by aunties and uncles.

As term approaches, we already have some events that may interest you and since Michaelmas is quite a chilled term, I expect large participation in these events.

Hope to see everyone soon,
HumPyaaaar xx

**HUM** And that's the year done.

E-mail sent by Sagar Shah, Tuesday, 12th June 2012 @ 8:03pm

24 weeks of pain staking work hours, numerous socials and the spiritual aarti getaways have definitely instilled some unforgettable memories in me this year and hope they have for you as well.

For some of you, this sadly is your last week in Oxford as university students. We have organised a special leavers dinner for you tomorrow (see below for details). We wish you all the best for the future and thank you for all that you have done for HUM over these years. When you grow up, get jobs, get married (arranged or non) and have numerous kids, we hope you look back at these years with fondness (perhaps some sponsorship for us as well ;).

Hope to see you soon,
And if not, have a wonderful summer!

**HUM** Oxford Mela

E-mail sent by Sagar Shah, Tuesday, 5th June 2012 @ 1:53pm

The Oxford Hindu Temple and Community Centre Project is hosting its annual Summer Mela this Saturday 9th June from 1-6pm.

Location: Oxford Spires Academy, Glanville Road, OX4 2AU

They are celebrating the Queen’s Diamond Jubilee and have put together an inclusive multi-cultural, multi-generation and multi-faith programme of fun & entertainment.

It promises to be colourful, noisy and lively! They have a variety of performances including loads of live music, Bollywood & other dance groups. In addition, there will be drumming, a fashion show and various stalls.
Another big attraction is, of course, a wide range of delicious food that will tempt the taste buds of everyone present.
Regardless of whether you’re done with exams or not, if you feel in the mood for a great afternoon then make sure to head down and show your Hum Spirit!

Check out the poster for more details.

As usual, we will be conducting Aarti tomorrow at the OCHS at 6:30 pm, I look forward to seeing you all!
