THE WEEK: Join the team! Use our books! Look forward to a Hubby Hilary!

E-mail sent by Charlie Smart, Sunday, 2nd December 2012 @ 3:11pm

Hello Hubbers!

Oxmas has come and gone, and the libraries have emptied for the vacation with only sad, lonely postgrads to be spotted amongst the shelving (alas, spare a thought for these poor souls!), but never fear as your weekly dose of charitable and ethical goodness is here!

It's as if term never really ended (don't panic, it has), and what a term it was. This Michaelmas saw the wildly successful Spotlight on the Middle East Week, with lively speakers and even a tour of the Ashmolean's Middle East collection. Schools Plus and the Ethical Internships scheme have gone down incredibly well with both students and our partners, and the Emerge and IID conferences motivated students to make change happen. That's really why we're all here, right?

We're not resting on our laurels for Hilary, though. As well as the great events listed in (1) below, we'll be bringing you four more spotlight weeks, each focusing on causes close to the hearts of our key divisions: Social Enterprise, Environment & Sustainability, Local Action, and Rights & Development. Plus, there are the Oxford Climate Forum and OxFID conferences to look forward to. Surely that's enough to whet your appetite for now...

Until next time,

The Oxford Hub xx

Hello Hubbers!

Merry Oxmas everybody! Yes, it's that time again when we all have one last week of fun with friends (I'm choosing to ignore the hideous workload) before heading off for the holidays. If you're stuck for festive ideas there's a whole host of events to extinguish your inner Scrooge, from the fantastic OxHub Christmas Fair for all your mince pie scoffing/present buying needs, to pantos and candy canes.

If reading this has got you angrily shouting "It's only November!" at your screens, we've not forgotten about you. Why not take this chance to volunteer with OxGrow, join the Hub committee or buy your ticket for Oxford Climate Forum 2013 before December hits?

Until next time,

for social, ethical and environmental activity at the university of Oxford. We connect
students with opportunities to get involved with causes they are passionate about
and to make positive change in their communities, both now and in the furture.

The Week is our newsletter that goes out every Sunday and gives you a rundown
