Richard Reed, Co-Founder of Innocent Smoothies, 5th March 2008

Richard came and told over 100 of us about the story and brand values of Innocent smoothies. A company which began as a stall at a music festival in the summer of 1998, when the three co-founders bought £500 worth of fruit, turned it into smoothies and sold them alongside a sign saying, 'Do you think we should give up our jobs to make these smoothies?' They had two bins, one saying YES and the other NO and asked people to put their empty bottle in the right bin. The next day they had all resigned from their jobs. He spoke about the challenges of building a multinational corporations and faced tough questions on ethics and organic farming.
