Dear OE Members,

Although we are approaching the end of term, OE is more committed than ever to bringing you high-quality entrepreneurship-related events. Join us this Thursday for the launch of Tata Idea Idol 2012 with three extraordinary speakers - Stuart Miller (ByBox), Benjamin Barokas (AdMeld) and Will Chadwick (Tata). Tata Idea Idol is OE's flagship business idea competition where the winning team will win up to £10,000 in cash and prizes.

We are delighted to announce that one of the teams from the Oxford Appathon received an award from David Cameron for their app Coursehorse. The competition was based around creating apps using government data in 48 hours. The winning team went on to compete in the national competition winning at a national level, where they visited 10 Downing Street and met Prime Minister David Cameron, Reid Hoffman (co-founder LinkedIn) and Sherry Coutu (TechCrunch Top CEO Mentor - Europe). You can read more about their story and achievements below. Coursehorse is also this week's chosen company for OE Startup Spotlight!

E-mail sent by a GroupSpaces user, Thursday, 24th November 2011 @ 12:44am

Dear OE Members,

We are excited to announce the launch of TATA Idea Idol 2012 next Thursday at Said Business School. TATA Idea Idol is OE's flagship business idea competition where the winning team will win up to £10,000 in cash and prizes. It is a multi-round event open to Oxford students. Entries go through several rounds of judging and shortlisting. This leads up to the Grand Finale, which will be held on the evening of March 7th 2012. TATA Idea Idol is an annual competition that started in 2004, so we’re now coming up to our 8th year, cementing our place as the leading student-pitching competition in the UK.
This year we look forward to setting the stage once again for the best in student entrepreneurship, more prizes, and a new panel of high-profile judges. More details can be found below.

We are also excited to launch OE-MBA Matchup. This is an amazing opportunity for any student or alumnus to turn their idea into a successful company by partnering with an MBA team.

Finally, Startup Weekend and OE Mentor Matchup have been rescheduled for next term due to the Startup Weekend team not being able come to the UK this weekend. OE Buzz continues as usual at G&D on Thursday!
