OE Year In Review 2011-2012

E-mail sent by James May, Saturday, 28th July 2012 @ 1:54pm

Dear Oxford Entrepreneurs,

OE, the largest and most active student enterprise organisation in Europe, has a rich history of excellence in promoting student enterprise. After ten years of growth, we continue to hold true to our mission of encouraging and supporting student entrepreneurship by providing inspiration, education, networking, office space and the chance to learn by doing at the University of Oxford and beyond.

2011-12 has been a benchmark academic year in terms of membership, governance, programming, innovation and impact. The tangible impact of OE can be seen in the lives of those who engage with the society and felt by the contagious energy that flows through our events when like-minded, enterprising individuals connect.

I am delighted to welcome Sean Stevens and David Mason as OE’s 2012-13 Co-Presidents. Sean previously ran OE’s 2010 Idea Idol competition and has also previously performed the role of Internal Relations Director for the society. David previously performed the role of IT Director for OE, and has been involved in a number of successful start-up initiatives. Together, they have many exciting plans including new workshops designed to equip OE’s members with programming and design skills; innovative new competitions; new networking events; and a new speaker series focussed on digital entrepreneurship. Under Sean and David’s leadership, I am confident that OE will reach new heights – growing from strength to strength.

On behalf of the 2011-12 OE Committee, thank you to all of our sponsors, partners, supporters and members. It has been an honour working with each of you over the last year. Please enjoy the 2011-12 OE Year in Review, a window into the internal workings of OE to see what it takes to run a world leading enterprise society from the inside out.

Sincerely,

Husayn Kassai
President 2011/12
