The distinguished Oxford academic, and founder of BudSoc, will be speaking to us at 8pm on Thursday 3rd February, in The Old Refectory, Wadham College, about "Buddhism and Science".
The talk is free to all, so please feel free to bring friends.

Reverend Alina, 3rd March 2011.
Venue TBA
'Just Sitting' - the practice of zazen.
Rev Alina Burgess will describe this form of meditation and how its practice unfolds in daily life. Regular practice of zazen allows us to sit still with and accept whatever we encounter and to see what the conditions of the moment call for. There will be an opportunity to sit and to ask questions.
Rev Alina is a senior monk of the Order of Buddhist Contemplatives, founded by Rev Master Jiyu- Kennett on her return from Japan in 1972. This Soto Zen lineage comes through Great Master Dogen via her Master, Keido Chisan, former Abbot of Sojiji temple, Japan. There are now temples of the OBC in USA, Canada, UK and Europe. Rev Alina is currently based at Reading Buddhist Priory.
