Cafe Scientifique March

Cafe Scientifique is a free monthly event for science enthusiasts & curious minds! ItĀ features a 45-min presentation followed by a Q&A session by a local expert, in a casual pub setting. Food and drink can be enjoyed during the presentation.

This month, Cafe Scientifique is delighted to present Dr. David Shiffman sharing life lesson's he's learnt from years spent uncovering sharks' secrets from the deep.

Dr. Shiffman is a Liber Ero Postdoctoral Research Fellow at Simon Fraser University, where he studies the sustainability of shark fisheries.

David is an award-winning science communicator with bylines in the Washington Post, Slate, and Gizmodo, and has been interviewed for over 200 media outlets including National Public Radio and the New York Times.
