I write to provide you with news of some fantastic opportunities upcoming at two of our partner banks, Barclays Capital and Merrill Lynch:

1."Access and the City" Barclays Capital Insight day

Investment Banking is often a misrepresented career opportunity to women. There is such a breadth and depth of career opportunities available that anyone can find their niche - and another thing….like many of our top performers, you don't need to be studying Economics or Finance to be eligible! Barclays Capital is on the look out for intelligent, numerate, motivated candidates from technical degree disciplines interested in a challenging career in a dynamic and international environment.
We place a lot of importance on recruiting and developing the best female talent and are holding an event with high achieving women specifically in mind: our Womens Internal Network (WiN) and Campus Recruitment are jointly hosting an insight day aimed at women who may be considering a career in banking.
Our insight day will open your eyes to the range of opportunities available; attend our event and you will:

- Meet and network with representatives from recent graduates to senior members of the business

- Gain an insight into working in the industry through panel discussions and networking

2. Barclays Capital CV Workshop and Interview Guide

Just a reminder of the sessions being held today at 3.30pm at the Old Dining Room at St Edmund Hall.
Representatives from Barclays Capital will be giving a hands on guide to how to perfect your CV and perform well in your interviews. This will be a great opportunity for anyone applying for graduate, first year, or summer positions whether it be in finance, consulting, or law.

Please note the early afternoon time. Due to the nature of the event, only 40 spaces are available so please email carina.namih@queens.ox.ac.uk to reserve a place. There may also be opportunities for 1 on 1 mock interviews at the end of the event. If you are interested in putting your name down for this please state it in the email.

3. Merrill Lynch Application Deadline
Merrill Lynch is a leading Investment Bank with a global network spanning six continents.

The Global Investment Banking group serves a diverse client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, financial sponsors, hedge funds, governments and government agencies. We provide our clients with a range of services fundamental to their business, including strategic advice, financing, restructuring and risk management, as well as capital-raising from both the public markets and private sources.

We currently have opportunities for native speakers of Arabic and Central & Eastern European languages (including German, Russian, Polish and Turkish) to join our 2009 Full Time programme in London in our Global Investment Banking division.

There are also full time opportunities in our Dubai, Frankfurt, Madrid, Moscow and Paris offices. Fluent written and spoken English, as well as fluency in the local language, is a requirement for each of these roles.
