If you ever were a registered member of the OUHaC then you are considered an alumni. The purpose of the Alumni Club is twofold. First of all, we would like to create a community among former and current Oxford University Handball players. Most of us have fond memories of the time we spent with the club - sweating, fighting, winning (and loosing) together. One goal of the Alumni Club is to help you stay in touch with your old team mates and also with the club. This webpage includes the database which stores the contact details of all old and current players. Register on this webpage and you will have access to it. You can update your own records at any time.
Second, the club would like to ask for your support. I think you all remember well how the club struggled financial-wise from season to season. Although, we have seen some improvements in the last years (e.g., a kit sponsor), many of the club's expenses still have to be covered by the players which is especially difficult if the season turns out to be extremely long (remember 2006/07!). The financial support from the University is still very (very) low. In order to secure the future of the club we would like to ask for your support.
Alumni are invited to join the team at any "friendly" tournaments such as Beach Handball or communal trips abroad. Apart from regular emails about the club's progress alumni will also be able to purchase any garment that is produced for the club (e.g. hoodies, player shirts, T-shirts).
Please sign up and become a lifelong member of the Alumni Club (no costs involved!).
Annual Alumni Match
One of the season highlights is the annual Alumni Match - "OU Blues VII vs. OU Old Boys" which will be organised by the club. The not-to-be-missed event is held at the end of Trinity Term and is usually followed by a BBQ. It should be noted that although we refer to the team as "Old Boys" we play mixed teams.
The longterm record is as follows:
2009: Old Boys win
2010: Old Boys win
2011: Old boys win (Tenth Anniversary Special)
OUHaC 10th Anniversary Celebrations
In 2011, we celebrated our 10th club anniversary. Despite the absence of several old members, very many came over long distances (Germany, France, Italy, Florida!) to take part in this three-day event. Much eating and drinking were involved, and we organised our traditional Blues vs. Old Boys game.
A set of special 10th Anniversary t-shirts were donated by old member Csaba commmemorating the 10th anniversary and all the achievements of the club in these ten years. One of them has been signed by all the people who came over (32 in total) and will be auctioned off on this webpage soon to raise money for the club.
