Event Details

Location: HMRC, 100 Parliament Street, London SW1A

Contact Details: Full details about this event, including how to register, can be found on http://www.ges.gov.uk/events.htm./ An accurate list of those attending each event is essential for security purposes. Regrettably, students who are not on the guest list will not be admitted. If you have problems registering for an event please contact the Government Economic Service Team on 020 7 270 4571/5073.

HMRC needs economics graduates to help to shape policy by providing significant economic analysis that feeds into ministers and the Chancellor of the Exchequer. We can offer economics graduates the opportunity to be at the heart of it all - directly applying what they have learnt along with the support to further develop and hone these skills. Our work covers all areas of the economy and a range of topics including environmental economics, labour economics and behavioural economics. At this Open Day you will have a chance to meet economists from HMRC and also have the opportunity to find out more about the fast stream economist application process from a member of the Government Economic Service Team.

The HMRC Open day in London event will be open to all second and final year students or graduates who have, or expect to get, a 1st or a 2:1 in economics or a mixed degree where at least 50% of the modules taken are in economics. This event is also open to students on economics masters courses.

As well as UK citizens we recruit Commonwealth citizens, Swiss nationals and nationals of the European Economic Area (which includes people from member states of the European Union and the European Free Trade Area). Students who are not UK, EEA or Commonwealth nationals will not met the nationality requirements for the GES recruitment schemes so, to avoid disappointment, should not register for this event.

Provided students attending the event can provide receipts we will refund standard class return rail/bus fares up to a maximum of £75.00. We will not, on this occasion, be offering overnight subsistence.
