BP has a number of career opportunities available to Chemistry
graduates. We recruit PhD chemists onto both product and process related graduate programmes and we also offer a number of summer and year long internships to undergraduate chemistry students.
We would like to invite Oxford University chemistry students interested in a career in the oil and gas industry to a site tour and presentation at our technology centre in Pangbourne. The day is aimed at any student who would like to gain an insight into what we do, and the types of careers available to Chemistry graduates. The Technology Centre in Pangbourne is a centre for research and development in both lubricants and fuels. Students will have a chance to see the engine test cells where new lubricant formulations are tested in real engines; to have a tour of research and analytical labs, and to talk to chemists on the BP graduate programme. The day will begin with a lunch buffet at 1pm, and the tour and presentation will end by approximately 4pm. A coach will be provided to take students to Pangbourne at 11.45am outside the careers centre, and to take you back when the tour finishes.
(NB This visit is open to chemistry students studying at any level,
although BP only accept applications to our chemistry early experience programmes from PhD students. Applications for our internships are open to penultimate year students at all degree levels as long as you are on course to achieve a 2.1 in your degree classification).
