I mentioned at the beginning of the term that securing sponsorship would be key to success for OUBaC in this very ambitious season. Last week I wrote and submitted a 1000 word sponsorship proposal in a bid to win one of 8 sponsorship packages from Deloitte for the 2008/9 season (5 for £1000 and 3 for £3000).

The majority of Oxford University sports clubs put in a proposal to get a shot at this fantastic opportunity of sponsorship from an extremely reputable firm. Only 15 clubs were shortlisted by the sports federation for consideration today. I am delighted to say that we were awarded one of the 3 prestigious £3000 sponsorship packages!!!

We thoroughly deserve to this splendid prize but I must emphasise that it was a fiercely fought battle and a long time in the making, so congratulations to this year’s OUBaC executive committee!

I believe that this victory marks something of significant point in OUBaC history. This opportunity should provide the incentive for everyone to do their part in bringing to life the vision of a more professional, open and successful OUBaC.

I propose that the committee meets to discuss the sponsorship and how to allocate the sponsorship money early in Michaelmas term 2008.
