This Sunday I am organising a leaving do for one of the longest standing members of the badminton club and someone who has done us great service in his 8 years here in Oxford. Nattapong Paiboonvorachat (better know as Foam) is leaving for Thailand next week and so I invite you to join us this Sunday evening in the Cape of Good Hope for food and drinks and to send him off with your best wishes. I hope you can come.

Tuesdays 09.00-12.00 (3 courts) - from 26 June to 25 Sept but not 10 July, 14 Aug, 11/18 Sept

Thursdays 21.00-22.20 (all courts) - from 28 June to 27 Sept

Saturdays 14.30-16.30 (3 courts) - from 21st July to 29th Sept.

Where I have said 3 courts, the 4th will be made available for private hire but please use if it is empty.

In order to play the cuppers finals, club night is cancelled on Sunday 10th June (Sunday 8th week).

The cuppers finals will take place from 230 to 430.

Men's final: Teddy Hall (reigning champions) vs St Johns
Women's final: some combination of Peter's, Queen's, Jesus and Hilda's (semis Friday)
Men's 3rd/4th play-offs: Hugh's vs Queen's

Come and watch if you like, might be exciting.

For anyone who doesn't already know this I am the new OUBaC Treasurer so your inboxes will probably be inundated by many of my emails from now on. Anyways, this email is actually not demanding money for anything so that's good :) Basically, anyone who wants receipts for anything (obviously has to be relevant to this club :P) to give to their college for any kind of Blues fund you may have, please let me know before the end of 5th week so that I can get those done and pidged to you before the end of term.

I would just like to take a moment to introduce myself as the new OUBaC president. I hope everyone is looking forward to a term full of badminton to relieve the stresses of exams.

The court times are as follows (all at Iffley):

Sundays     - 14.30-16.30      CLUBNIGHT
Tuesdays    - 10.00-13.00      SQUAD AND CLUBNIGHT
Thursdays   - 20.00-22.30      CLUBNIGHT
Fridays        - 12.00-16.00      SQUAD (ALL TEAMS)
Saturdays    - 14.30-16.30      SQUAD (ALL TEAMS)

*This Friday (20th), there will only be two courts from 12-2, but then 4 courts from 2-4.

All this will soon be on the website (www.oubac.com) along with the new committee members.

I can now announce that the position of Clubnight Director for the next year will be held jointly by Ivan Vanchev and Akash Verma. They're both regular players so if you play at clubnight at all you've probably run into them. For now, any e-mail queries about badminton clubnight should be still sent to me, but from 0th week of Trinity onwards e-mails should be sent to either of them. The OUBaC website will be updated by then to give contact details for all the new committee members. 
That said, it's goodbye from me and here's wishing you all a very happy Easter.

It is with a heavy heart (feels more carbon fibre than the latest nano Ti technology right now) that I must inform you that my term as President and that of the 2011/2012 committee is over. However (as light as a feather....shuttle) the new committee will spring into action in Trinity and I wish them all the best of luck for the coming year. The website will be updated in due course so that you can easily get in touch and attached are the minutes from the AGM (kind courtesy of Foam) showing the results of the elections and summarising the work we have done. For all those in Oxford over the vacation, the court time avaliable for badminton is as follows:

Tuesdays - 9am-12pm (3 courts)

Thursdays - 9pm-10.25pm (all 4) except for 29th March when its 8-10.25pm (3 courts but if the fourth is not in use feel free to use this.

Saturdays - not available 24th March
               - 31st March & 14th April - 2-4pm (3 courts - 4 if other not in use)
               - closed 7th April

Sundays - not available 18th and 25th March          
             - 1st April -11am-2pm 
             - closed 8th April

This is running from NOW through till the start of 0th week of TT. The information will also be avaliable on our website so if you forget then do check there first.

I am afraid I have some cancellations to our court time to announce that are mainly due to Varsity Matches yet to be completed and end of term tournaments:

1. No Squad Training Saturday Week 8
2. No Clubnight Sunday Week 9
3. No Squad Training Saturday Week 9
4. No Clubnight Sunday Week 10


However, I will be booking court time for the coming Easter Vacation so keep an eye out for these to be e-mailed and posted on the website soon. Everything else is as normal.
