Dear Students Supporting Street Kids member,
Boy we've been quiet on the mailing list front. But that doesn't mean we've been quiet in general - we have still raised over £2,000 this year from various events!
We decided it was time to get back in the public eye though, so we've got two great events lined up for you in the next couple of weeks. The first, is the displaying of our PHOTO EXHIBITION at the Oxford Hub's Charities and Cocktails event. The exhibition is amazing and, like last term, it will be a great night - see below for more.
The second is our flagship event of the year on TUESDAY 6th WEEK: RENDEZ VOUS - a chance for you to go out with friends/lovers/blind dates and get a variety of food and drink discounts all over town. After the success of last year, when we got over 300 people out on the town we're hoping for bigger and better things. You get FREE ENTRY to BAR RISA and see www.rendezvous-oxford.org.uk for details of participating restaurants.
Get in touch with your RAG reps or send a cheque to Ben Hayden @ Jesus if you'd like to attend. ALL money goes to RAG and SSSK. Don't miss out!
Have a great week,
Adam

Dear all,
Thank you very much to the large numbers who came to our first SSSK meeting of
the year, in an (ever so slightly!) crowded King's Arms.
Fundraising ideas for this year include:
- a sponsored firewalk (oh dear),
- charity formal halls,
- gigs,
- casino nights,
- possibly a charity ball,
- club nights,
- Rendez vous,
- Change for Children Week,
- applying to Chapels and JCRs.
If you have any other suggestions to add to the list, they are v welcome.
We are also planning to hold speaker events, with UNICEF and Save the Children.
We will be meeting again to start making plans for the events this Thursday but
at 5pm, at the Harold Wilson Room in Jesus, and with biscuits; hopefully those
who couldn't make it last week will be able to come, and the hungry Jesus crew
will be able to get back in time for informal hall…
This was quite a good time for lots of people, but if this remains inconvenient
for others please get in touch and we can meet up one-to-one to discuss plans
for the year.
I look forward to seeing you all again this Thursday,
Celine

Welcome to a new year of Oxford Students Supporting Street Kids!
Building on the £10,000 we’ve raised in Oxford over the past two years, OSSSK would like to invite anyone wanting to get involved with our work, freshers or otherwise, to drinks TOMORROW. First round is on the committee. We'll have a short discussion about what we are planing for the year - another Change for Children Week, another 'Rendezvous' - and I hope to see as many of you as can make it.
Meeting at: King’s Arms, pub opposite Sheldonian Theatre, THIS THURSDAY @ 5.30
Students Supporting Street Kids is a national charity aiming to raise awareness about the issues affecting street children, and to raise money for projects that work with and for children in difficult circumstances.
More info about SSSK can be found on our website: www.sssk.org.uk/oxford or at the bottom of this email.
If you can't make it then please email me, but otherwise, see you Thursday - or maybe even tonight at the first ever OxHub Series event (see below).
Regards,
~ Adam
