Dear Members of the elite Vandread Prevention Squad,

I would like to open by reminding you of the utmost secrecy of our operation. The VPS and other branch groups of the OAV Secret Police cannot function effectively unless we avoid public scrutiny. Therefore, please do not share the information in these e-mails with anyone, and above all do not forward it to the Groupspaces mailing list or any other OAV comms system.

Present operations

The Squad's work so far has been exemplary. In spite of the efforts of the Paiway Insurgency and the spies of splinter groups of the Fanservice Cabal, Vandread has remained sealed away.

I have received reports from all checkpoints, and the Harris Lecture Theatre in Oriel College has been secured. While we have unfortunately had to leave the projector off-centre in order to accommodate remote control and monitoring devices, we are well-prepared to forestall any attacks on the RandomThon taking place 1pm-5pm today.

Please ensure that these countermeasures remain in place for the next meeting, at the HLT at 8pm next Friday, and leave them dormant for use in the 5th Week Saturday DeathThon (on which more detailed instructions will be sent via the encrypted network).

Remember, you are the chosen of the OAV, entrusted with one of our most sacred duties. Fail, and you risk being demoted to the likes of the Utena Explanation Suppression Team. Serve OAV well, and you might even be promoted to the Zero Squad (popularly known as the Jonathan Guard).
