Edinburgh University Musical Medics aims to be the most inclusive performing music society. We are non-auditioning, and contrary to popular belief, more than half of our members are non-medics! We comprise of a choir, an orchestra, and several smaller ensembles. All members come together to perform two concerts a year from which the proceeds go to medical charities.
This year we are expanding the charitable side of our society and sending our ensembles into schools and hospitals to perform. We welcome everyone, whether you are a serious musician or someone who just needs a break from your studies, to join!
Rehearsals are each week on Thursday evening in Alison House, Nicolson Square. Choir 6.00 - 7.30pm, Orchestra - 7.30 - 9.00pm.

I hope this finds you well.
Just a quick update! We had a slight issue with Augustine's and the concert date has had to be moved to Friday 22nd March. As this is just a day earlier than the initial date of Saturday 23rd we hope this won't cause any problems, but if anyone is unable to attend then please remember to let us know!
Thank you to everyone coming to rehearsals, we're beginning to sound great. Numbers have been a bit down with 4th years being on holiday but now that everyone's back we're looking forward to seeing you all this Thursday. As usual, choir is starting at 6pm and orchestra at 7.30.

I hope this finds you all well! A few things for you this week..
1. A quick reminder to everyone who wants to come to the Christmas meal (a delicious curry at Red Fort and then onto the Brass Monkey to watch Sweeney Todd and Jurassic Park!) please bring your £10 to rehearsal on Thursday! Check out the event and join on facebook to be kept in the loop http://www.facebook.com/events/418485241551178/?fref=ts
3. All members who are are keen on a spot of carol singing (orchestra too!) please keep 1st Dec free for that!
4. As for the concert... rehearsals are well underway and sounding great. Please come to as many rehearsals as you can, in the run up to the concert it's best to have as many people attending as possible to get the most out of rehearsals! Also please remember to invite friends and family to our concert (Friday 14th December, 7.30pm) All our hard work is wasted if nobody comes to enjoy it and the more people who come the more money to a very worthwhile charity!! Again, here is the facebook event.. http://www.facebook.com/events/380796172005571/?ref=ts&fref=ts Get inviting! :)
5. If anyone has any music suggestions for next semester, send 'em in!
Phew, that's everything!! Have a nice week everyone!

I hope this finds you all well!
Rehearsals have been going really well this semester- thanks for all your hard work so far, it's shaping up to be a great Christmas concert. Numbers were down slightly last week but we're looking forward to seeing you all at tomorrow's rehearsal. Choir- good news! The Sweeney Todd music has arrived so we'll be starting that tomorrow!
Just a quick reminder for everyone who hasn't yet done so to bring their subs in tomorrow- it's only £10 for the whole year - a pretty good deal, and all of the money goes towards music costs and keeping the prices of socials down! :) Also, please remember your jersey/hoodie order forms (and I'm sure there'll be more available tomorrow for those who haven't yet got one) to make sure you keep warm this winter in EUMM style!
