JEE Main Counseling 2016

Counseling is the process that is extremely necessary for the students to qualify the seat in the desirable colleges. Only the candidates who have qualified the JEE main exam can be eligible to appear for ten counseling rounds. The candidates are offered different choices to the courses they wish to opt for, according to the All India Rank of the candidate, and according to the number of seats available for the courses.

Since the exam has been conducted successfully the dates for the central counseling process will be released as soon as the All India Ranks for all the candidates are released by the 30th of June. Also we advise the candidates to download the result or the score card from the official website as it might be required at the time of JEE Main counseling 2016.

Many candidates aspire for a better college so that they can have a better future and many other career opportunities and her mains is such one platform that helps in providing the same. Institutions like the INIT’s, IIIT’s and the state engineering colleges be a part for the candidates who have been qualified the JEE Main 2016. It is advised that the students must check the list of the participating institutions so that they can make a fair choice.

Approx. more than 4.5 lakh students have appeared for the exam. The exam is conducted on a national level therefore candidates from the entire place fill up the forms for the admission. It is really a tough exam to qualify and many lucky students who get through it also qualify for its second phase and that is for the JEE advanced exam. The student who qualify the JEE main exam can only be eligible to sit for the JEE advanced.

Also there are so many different courses that are given out to students with different institutions. It is necessary that the students should do a bit of homework on them and then come for the counseling rounds. We advise the students to check the eligibility criterion that has been marginalized to the different courses. Also the cut off marks required to be eligible for try various courses and the different streams available in the different engineering colleges.

Double verify that the college you wish to opt for must have the stream or the course that you have applied for.

Also not only this but the student who belong to any specific category like OBC, SC, ST and PwD will get a bit of relaxation in the marks. It is necessary that the student belonging to any category must have brought the category certificates with them at the time of counseling so as to not create any further hindrance.

Role of the selection process


Well the selection process is a bit of the ration of 40:60

JEE mains exam carries the total of 60% of weight age and rest is to the board exams.

The given selected criteria

  • A candidate who has scored 45% of the marks in board and  2328 students have scored below him or her then the percentile score for 45% marks in board will be  2328*100/13711=16.09
  • A candidate who has scored 50% marks in board and 6885 students have scored below him then the Percentile score for 50% of the marks in board will be 6885*100/13711=50.21.

Taking the aggregate and summing up with the percentile of the JEE main exam will equalize the result.
