A half-day long workshop on ‘Scientific Writing and Publishing’ took place at the Örebro University campus on May 3, 2012. The focus of the workshop was to address two important issues about the scientific rigor and relevance of research papers and how to getting them published. Please click here for videos.
A seminar on 'Global initiaves on conencting the unconencted: Myth and reality' was held on November 11, 2011 at the Swedish Business School (Informatics) of Örebro University. The focuses of the seminar were how global initiatives on ICT4D were addressing the needs of poor people, how the challenges and development effects had been evident so far, and how effectively ICT could be applied in the development agenda. IPID2011: The 6th IPID Annual Symposium 2011 was held at the Università della svizzera italiana (USI), Lugano, Switzerland. This symposium granted postgraduate researchers the opportunity to present their work to a diverse audience, and to gain positive and valuable experience. It was also an opportunity for young scientists to network and engage with international scholars in ICT4D. For more photos, click here
A full-day post-graduate strand at ICTD 2010 was held on the first day (13th December) of the ICTD2010 conference (http://www.ictd2010.org/). This was co-hosted by IPID and postgraduates in the ICT4D Collective (http://www.ict4d.org.uk/) at the Royal Holloway, London, United Kingdom.

IPID2009: The 2009 IPID Annual Symposium was held at Royal Holloway, University of London on the 11th-12th September 2009, hosted by the ICT4D Collective and UNESCO Chair in ICT4D
Blended technologies for development : On the 26th January, 23 IPID members visited Ericsson in Stockholm for a full day education on Mobile technologies for development.
In September , 2008 - IPID and Karlstad University invited IPID members to a graduate course in development theories. The course was offered due to several requests from IPID members about an introduction in development theories and a wish to define ‘D’ in ICT4D.
IPID2008: The 3rd IPID Annual Symposium was organized in Finland at the University of Joensuu on the 7th-9th September, 2008 at the Mekrijärvi Research Station close to the Russian border. IPID arranged a one-day visit to Sida (the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency) on the 21st January 2008 in conjunction with the launch of the ICT4D helpdesk activities at Sida.
IPID arranged a one-day Satellite Communication Course on the 27th of May 2008. The course included presentations about satellite technology as well as a study visit to the Earth Station facility, Stockholm Teleport, Farsta.
IPID arranged a study visit to UNESCO headquarters in Paris on the 23-24th April 2008 under a program called ’Academia meets Practice’. The aim of this event was to allow IPID members to explore the contributions of UNESCO’S Information Society Division to ICT4D research.
Academia meets practice - Nils Jensen 12 December 2007: The first seminar within the newly launched theme was held in Stockholm, Sweden on the 12th of December 2007. The first invited speaker was Mr. Nils Jensen. Mr. Jensen is a systems analyst by profession and has worked as an IT-consultant for more than 30 years, mostly abroad (Latin America, Spain, Switzerland, Jordan and Tanzania).
IPID2007: The 2nd IPID Annual Symposium was held in Sweden at the Karlstad University on the 30-31st of August 2007.
IPID2006: Several PID-members participated in a symposium held at the Royal Holloway, University of London, during 14th - 15th September 2006. The symposium was organised by the ICT4D Collective, led by Professor Tim Unwin, and it was the first annual symposium for postgraduate students in ICT4D.
