ABOUT IPID

IPID’s vision is to contribute to development through knowledge creation and dissemination about how ICTs can make a difference to poor and marginalised people in our world. We furthermore envision that this knowledge creation should be a shared undertaking of researchers in developing and developed countries.

IPID’s overall objective is to encourage and arrange activities that enable and support research collaboration, knowledge creation and sharing, and mentoring of ‘junior’ researchers. This network will advance the understanding of how ICTs can be used for development through dissemination of research findings to researchers as well as involving practitioners in dialogue of relevance of research and future directions.

In order to accomplish our objectives we intend to:

 - Promote and profile IPID in both local and international communities (e.g. high ranked ICT4D conferences, journals but also visibility in up and - coming emerging communities)

- Stimulate research collaboration on ICT4D between universities and disciplines

- Facilitate knowledge sharing among researchers in local and international research communities

- Mentor postgraduate students
