Ipid will organise the Graduate Students track (PhD and Master Students) at the 6th International Conference on Mobile Communication Technology for Development (M4D 2018) in co-operation with Makerere University-Uganda and Karlstad University-Sweden. Download the call for submissions. M4D 2018 conference will take place in Kampala, Uganda, November 15-16, 2018. The track will be organized as a workshop a day before the conference. The main goal of the workshop is to provide research guidance to graduate students and give formative feedback on their research projects.

Research papers and plans (work in progress): Submissions should be 8-12 pages including references and formatted in font Times New Roman, size 11. Use a standard format for references, and bold headings. The submissions will be peer-reviewed and evaluated based on theory craftsmanship and analytical rigor. For research plans and work in progress, a clear outline of the status of research activities, methodology, theory, areas of focus, research questions, etc. should be presented. Articles considering critical approaches or methodological development will be prioritized. Five Students with the best submissions will receive a partial travel grant to attend the conference. All students who are accepted to the workshop will have their conference fees waived. Author and author’s supervisor’s details (names and institution) should be included on the first page of the submission.
Posters or Demos: Especially Masters students are welcome to present their work in the form of a poster or demo. Posters will be presented both at the workshop and at the main conference. Submit a 1-page extended abstract in a standard format. Poster size should be max. 80x120 cm. Roll-ups are also allowed.

Results from paper reviews were communicated to authors in October and students who were selected to receive travel grants were contacted.
