Invitation to scientific writing and publications Workshop

E-mail sent by Edgar Napoleon Asiimwe, Monday, 25th March 2013 @ 2:41pm

Dear IPID members,

We are pleased to invite you to attend an interactive half-day workshop on ’Scientific Writing and Publishing’ to be held at Örebro University, Sweden on the 29th April, 2013 at 13:15 – 16:00.

There is quite a significant number of research papers on ICT4D but not all of them are rich in scientific rigor and relevance. Furthermore, researchers spend time and efforts finding the right publication venues and struggle getting their scholarly work published. This workshop therefore serves to educate scholars in ICT4D on contemporary issues in regards to writing scientific papers and publications.

The workshop speakers will be:

Dr. Åke Grönlund, Professor in Informatics at Örebro University, Chair of AIS Special Interest Group on Electronic Government (SIGeGov) and Chair of Swedish Academy of Information Systems

Dr. Annika Andersson, Assistant Professor and Program Manager, Informatics master program at Örebro University and   Member of Editorial board, Journal of Information Technology for Development (ITD)

To register your interest or inquire about the seminar, please send an e-mail to Edgar Napoleon A. <ena@du.se> by the latest the 22nd April 2013.

There is no registration or attendance fee. IPID will only sponsor IPID-members that are affiliated to a SPIDER-affiliated Swedish University. We will sponsor 15 participants with up to 600 SEK for travel related expenses.

Please note that at the end of the workshop, all participants will be given a ‘Certificate of attendance’.

Looking forward to your registration and to welcome you at Örebro University!

Download the invitation! More details about the seminar will be published.

Dear IPID member,

The group of developers is very much interested in (a) what skills will be required by the graduates of this program and (b) which learning objectives should the program have to contribute in the best possible way the graduates to get jobs and be a valuable asset to the societies in developing countries.

We will therefore appreciate your kind input on this matter, which should be sent to sirajul.islam@oru.se

Thank you in advance for your help and your time.
