About this group

The International Network for Postgraduate Students in the area of ICT4D (IPID) is an academic network doing research in ICT4D. IPID operates through inter alia support to doctoral as well as master students and increased visibility at international conferences. The network is administered at DSV - Department of Computer & Systems Sciences and funded by SPIDER - the Swedish Program for ICT in Developing Regions.

IPID was established during Spring 2006 with ambitions to become a research-meeting place as well as a social meeting place for students interested in ICT4D. The ambition is also to increase the existing network of SPIDER, national as well as international, and to increase collaboration among universities. With its more than 900 registered members representing over hundreds of universities/research organizations around the globe, the interest for the network has been met beyond all expectations.

ICT4SDGs – Call for participation
The International Telecommunication Union (ITU) is pleased to invite you to participate in the ICT④SDGs: ITU Academia Partnership Platform: ICT-enabled Economic Growth, Innovation and Job Creation for Sustainable Development. This event is being organized in London, United Kingdom, by ITU with the generous support of the London School of Economics (LSE), on May 22-23, 2018.

The event will bring together some of the leading scholars and authors of the ITU Book on “ICT- centric economic growth, innovation and job creation” https://www.itu.int/pub/D-GEN-ICT_SDGS.01-2017. This book highlights the challenges and opportunities that information and communication technologies (ICTs) bring in the areas of innovation, governance, education, job creation and economic growth. ICTs cut across all Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and are enablers of growth and development. As the international community works towards achieving these goals, it is important to remember that access to ICTs is key to socio-economic as well as sustainable development.

This event will also provide an opportunity for interactive dialogue with authors, and networking, knowledge sharing and partnership opportunities amongst all stakeholders within the ICT-centric ecosystem and the development community. ITU membership from public and private sectors and academics to partners ranging from funding agencies, regional and international organizations to financial institutions amongst others will focus on existing and new complementary areas and perspectives for additional collaborative research and partnerships in the digital ecosystem.

Registration will be carried out exclusively online at the following link http://www.itu.int/net3/ITU-D/meetings/registration/.
